Baby Boy on Mother's Day

Long Overdue Update

Yes, I know, it's been months since I've posted anything. No excuses, just busy. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Boy Dries. Suppose to be here Aug. 8th, but we predict sooner. We have also been putting up with the demolition of Shuksan Middle School, directly across the street. NOT fun. Dust city central. I went to that school back in the 60's and both of our children attended the school as well. The new school is long overdue. Promises were made that the trees would NOT be cut down...WRONG. They did. Hopefully they will plant something! Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. We go on vacation later in August to Cannon Beach but will have someone staying at the house. We also look forward to seeing our grandchildren & family from Boise sometime in August. As soon as Mr. Sweet Pants arrives, we will post plenty of pictures. CHEERS!

Friday, February 13, 2009

Well, here we are half way thru February and I have written nothing since the first of January. Busy times at work, adding undue stress in my life is to blame. NOT fun. As a lot of people have read, WWU cut their football program. It has been awful, but we had no choice. New administration, and lots of budget problems. The economy is terrible and I'm just trying to hold on to my job so I can retire from WWU. For those who think the "stimulus plan" will create jobs and get us on our feet are in for a rude awakening. All I can say is I didn't vote for the man.

GOOD NEWS - we are going to have another grandchild Aug. 8th. Heidi and Joe are expecting their first baby. We are thrilled. They live closer so we will be able to see baby more. We miss so much having our other grandchildren living in Boise. They will be finding out the sex of the baby the first of March so that will add reality to the entire event.

I turned 60 Feb. 6th. My co-workers gave me a surprise luncheon at a nice restaurant down at the Marina. They also gave me a generous spa gift certificate - I can use that. I also got lots of beautiful flowers - most being tulips, my favorite. Chris turns 62 the end of the month and will start getting social security. YEAH!

Weather is getting a little better and March 8th is daylight savings time. It will be nice to have more light.

All for now..........I will hopefully have pictures of pregnant Heidi soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy 2009 to everyone. Hope you all survived the crazy weather. We are sick and tired of snow. It has a way of stopping everything! We were so lucky that our kids made it up for Seattle. It was touch and go for awhile. Joe & Heidi live on a hill and were not able to get off, so they walked to the bottom of the hill and Jeff picked them up and off to Bellingham they went. They were here for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning and then headed back to Seattle. It was the last Christmas Eve our pastor will be residing over. He has retired and we are going to miss him a lot. He has walked with our family thru the best of times and the worst of times. I'm going to post some snow pictures and a couple of Christmas pictures. People tend to get camera shy on Christmas morning.

Everyone have a wonderful and healthy 2009!
